This Privacy Policy explains how afterAI collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our video editing service. We are committed to handling your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Bulgarian data-protection law.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Svetoslav Halachev, an individual sole operator based in Sofia, Bulgaria, operating under the name afterAI. You can contact us about privacy at afterai72@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data — your name and email address, received when you sign in with Google.
  • Order data — the plan you chose, options selected, order status, and delivery links.
  • Content you upload — the video footage you submit for editing, and the finished videos we produce for you.
  • Payment data — handled by our payment provider (Paddle). We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details, but never your full card number.
  • Usage data — basic, mostly aggregated analytics about how the website is used (e.g. page views), to help us improve the Service.

3. How and why we use your data (legal bases)

  • To provide the Service — process your footage, produce and deliver your videos, and manage your account/subscription. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To take payment — process purchases and prevent fraud (via Paddle). Legal basis: contract / legitimate interests.
  • To communicate with you — send delivery links, order updates, and support replies. Legal basis: contract / legitimate interests.
  • To improve and secure the Service — analytics and security. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • To meet legal obligations — e.g. tax and accounting records. Legal basis: legal obligation.

4. Service providers (sub-processors)

We use trusted third parties to run the Service. They process data only on our instructions:

  • Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record.
  • Google — sign-in (authentication) and delivery of finished videos via Google Drive links.
  • Supabase — database hosting for your account and order records.
  • Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly usage analytics.
  • UploadThing — secure handling of the footage you upload.

Where any provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal/accounting purposes. Uploaded footage and finished videos are kept only as long as needed to deliver your order and provide reasonable re-download/support, after which they may be deleted. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see your rights below).

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email afterai72@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Children and minors

The Service is intended to be purchased by adults, or by minors with the involvement and permission of a parent or guardian (see our Terms of Service). In line with Bulgarian law implementing the GDPR, where our processing is based on consent we do not knowingly process the personal data of children under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 14 has provided us with personal data without such consent, please contact us at afterai72@gmail.com and we will delete it.

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to run the website, plus privacy-friendly analytics. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and reputable hosting providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
